Hussam D. Al-Kurd


Hussam specializes in financial and corporate commercial matters. His main areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, private equity and project development and finance. He has extensive experience advising multinational corporations, banks and international financial institutions.

Hussam is described by Chambers Global as “a highly skilled lawyer who is often instructed on corporate transactions and complex financings”.


Hussam’s recent activities include:

  • Advising a syndicate of lenders comprising of international and intergovernmental, multilateral, development financial institutions on a loan facility of $460 million provided to the subsidiary of the biggest electricity company in the region for the construction of an electricity generation station in Zarqa, Jordan.
  • Advising a private equity firm on the sale of their shares in a Jordanian bank to a Hong Kong-based investment firm for an approximate total sum of $130 million.
