Transportation accounts for approximately 10% of Jordan’s GDP. We have been heavily involved in transportation infrastructure projects, and with companies in the transportation and logistics business. We recently advised a major international courier and logistics company on its proposed $15 million acquisition of three Jordanian-based limited liability companies in the shipping, logistics and courier service business. In a deal that closed, we recently advised the shareholders of a Jordanian based logistics, port operations and transportation solutions company with operations in various jurisdictions on the partial acquisition of its shares by an international financial institution and a regional investment fund. In transportation infrastructure, we advised an international financial institution and an Islamic development bank on the financing of Queen Alia International Airport. This project was awarded by the Government of Jordan to an international consortium on a Build-Transfer-Operate basis. We were also involved in the privatization of the Aqaba Railway advising the Government of Jordan.
