Ward M. Tarawneh



Ward has extensive experience advising corporate clients and international financial institutions on a wide range of matters. His main area of practice is banking and finance, with a focus on project finance.

Ward’s recent activities include:

  • Advising a joint venture company and its two major sponsors, in relation to a $335 million facility provided by two international financial institutions for the building of a $767 million phosphoric acid plant in the southern part of Jordan on a project-finance, non-recourse basis.
  • Advising a joint venture between the largest electric utility in South Korea and a Saudi holding group on the bidding, financing, construction and operation of a 373-MW power plant in Al Qatranah, Jordan.

Prior to joining Obeidat Freihat, Ward was in-house counsel at Arab Bank plc.

Ward is a member of both the Jordanian Bar Association and the New York Bar Association.
